SUSTAINABILITY & VALUES

I am hyper aware of the negative impact humans are having on the planet. I live my life attempting to tread lightly and leave minimum impact. I don’t eat or exploit animals, I live with two rescue dogs and support animal rescue charities.

With this in mind I choose not to take part in ceremonies which involve using animals, or releasing things which may be damaging to the environment.

This includes; balloon releases, lanterns, bird and butterfly releases, using birds to deliver rings.

I would also like to draw gentle attention to the massive negative impact of fireworks on domestic and wild animals, the loud noises created by fireworks are incredibly distressing and can cause long term trauma to local wildlife, and nearby pets.

Saying that - I LOVE animals and I am fully there for involving your animal friends and/or assistance animals in your ceremony.

If your dog wants to come along, be your ring bearer, best dog and support animal this is music to my ears!

It can feel overwhelming setting out to create a more sustainable wedding - the boss team over at Patchwork not only host registries with a difference, where your guests can gift you money, time or skills, they have also created a sustainable wedding guide which is available free to download here!

I donate a percentage of my annual income to a local animal rescue charity Rescue Me. Check them out here!
